Radio/audio and Print Material Production
WIFIP designs, develops and produces audio and interactive radio materials which are used for the non-formal education and training. This material is used to train group leaders who in turn use this material to train their group members in the community. In the learning sessions the participants are involved in audio programmes which are complemented by print material.
Research and Documentation
To fully understand the target environment and the current situation at the ground, WIFIP conducts research exercises and documents its findings to help in the design and development of a solution.
We identify education and training needs, design and develop programme materials, perform baseline for benchmarking and organize the relevant learning groups based on the findings.
Maternal Child Health (MCH) and Reproductive Health
In our efforts to thwart the effects of HIV/AIDS, we ensure that the women and the children in the community get access to good and quality health care. Mothers are empowered with the skills to protect their young ones from HIV/Aids and other diseases. They are also equipped with knowledge to determine what is best for their and their babies post and pre-natal care and good practices on the same.
HIV/AIDS Prevention and Support
WIFIP organizes Volunteer Counseling and Testing clinics with technical support from FHOK and Liverpool VCT and performs awareness campaigns through development and dissemination of educational materials.
WIFIP supports theater groups trained in conducting, facilitating and monitoring the behavior patterns influenced by the community. 6 Theater performances have been held with focus on Gender Based Violence and HIV & AIDS in different areas including Kibwayi Primary and Ongalo Mixed Secondary Schools
Women and Youth Enterprise Development
In socio-economic empowerment women and other marginalized groups are given opportunities for entrepreneurial development through support and skills development and training. The beneficiaries are then equipped with techniques to improve their living standards and increase their production and income through harnessing their talent and innovation to create commercial products from cheap easily available materials.
Rights, Education and Advocacy for Women and Youth
WIFIP partners with like minded organizations we advocate for gender equality, rights and PLWHAs friendly policies at local and national levels. Our approaches promote communication, decision making and negotiation for equal rights and opportunities for all.
